DECEMBER 2020
We rejoice that St Lucius' will reopen on Sunday after a nine-month closure for Covid and for the work involved in the construction of our extension.

Friends from All Hallows', Almondbury, will join us at 11am for Holy Communion, celebrated by the Archdeacon of Halifax. Hymns and a short anthem will be sung by Claire Helm, a soprano from Honley.

Everyone is welcome to the service where distancing measures will be in place and the wearing of masks is requested. The heating will be on, but warm clothing is advised because of the need to keep the building well ventilated.

Thanks go to the members of the congregation and the community who cleaned the church so thoroughly after the upheaval caused by the building work. Similarly we are grateful to those who set up and decorated the Christmas tree.

To the delight of our resident
campanologist, Rachel, the church bells will ring out with renewed vigour to call worshippers to Sunday's service. They have been refurbished and fitted with an improved ringing system.

After this long interval, it will be a blessing to be together again on December 20 in our much-loved village church.
