The Rev Felicity Cowling-Green, who has been appointed Team Rector of Almondbury with Farnley Tyas.
The Rev Felicity Cowling-Green has been appointed Team Rector of Almondbury with Farnley Tyas. She will be licensed by The Bishop of Huddersfield on Wednesday, May 26 at 7.30pm at All Hallows'.

Felicity writes: 'I'm absolutely delighted to be joining you in May, and am very excited about the opportunity to minister in Almondbury with Farnley Tyas.

'Thank you for your prayers and for all the work that went into the discernment process to find a new Rector. In reading your profile, I was struck by your keenness to engage with the communities around you, as well as with the local schools. This was confirmed during my visit to the parish.

'I have a personal connection with the area; my grandfather (and great-grandfather) used to have a milk round in the area, and my parents were married at All Hallows Church. It has been a joy, therefore, to begin to get a better sense of the parish and church-life over these past few weeks. I am greatly looking forward to joining the church family and working with you all as we discern where God is leading us in this next chapter of the parish's life.

'I am very grateful to you all for carrying the churches through the vacancy during an incredibly challenging period. From what I've heard both from the Bishop and yourselves, you've handled this difficult period exceptionally well. I want to express my particular thanks to the Wardens, the PCC and and to Jessica for their role in enabling the life and ministry of the churches to continue to flourish.

'My husband Sam and I very much look forward to meeting you all in person (or on Zoom) over a cup of tea after my licensing in May.'

One month into your new role, I hope and pray God has been showing you wonderful opportunities to encourage Christians and show love to the community.
God grant you all an abundance of insight, creativity and Holy Spirit power.
