Celebrating completion of first phase of our scheme

St Lucius' Church has been serving the people of Farnley Tyas for nearly 200 years. At key moments in life, we have shared your joys and your sorrows.
But few buildings stay the same. The needs of people change and we try to meet them as sensitively as we can. The next stage in our development is to make the church more versatile to allow for more meetings, presentations, concerts, classes or functions.
Our Tuesday Café has proved popular, but, as with other events, it has exposed the shortcomings of our cramped kitchen and single toilet. Storage of chairs and tables is a further issue.
To overcome these problems, a small extension has been built to hold toilets and baby-changing facilities. It has also liberated space for a more spacious kitchen, for which fund-raising is underway.
Events, donations and grants raised sufficient to complete the first phase of the work. But the project is far from over and we would be grateful if you could help us to raise funds towards the creation of a kitchen. The biggest cost is making it fire resistant. Thank you in advance for you support.
St Lucius' is closed for service at present because of Covid. However it is hoped they will resume at the end of January.
